What are the primary differences between the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trim levels?

  • The WT trim level quite literally stands for work truck, and this trim provides a highly functional but relatively bare-bones option for people needing the utility of a pickup truck. You may not get all the extensive features that higher trims offer, however, you still get important features such as driver-assist systems, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, power windows and locks, and keyless entry with push button start.
  • The Custom trim level is a more straightforward way to order a pickup truck, offering a simplified cab with more standard features than the WT. The Custom trim gains a 10-way adjustable power driver’s seat, EZ Lift tailgate, upgraded suspension, and cruise control.
  • The LT trim adds some tech upgrades among other things to the prior 2 trim levels. The dash is entirely different, offering a sizeable 12.3-inch instrument cluster with an even larger 13.4-inch color infotainment center. On top of the standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the LT trim gains Google built-in, which is becoming a staple in the technology-filled world of modern vehicles.
  • The RST trim is the sporty one of the bunch, offering a range of available engines, including the 6.2-liter V8 an 3.0-liter Duramax diesel. Visually, you can tell an RST apart from the rest of the trims with its LED fog lamps, body-colored bumpers, and LED taillights.
  • The LTZ trim sits at the top of the trim lineup for the Silverado and for a good reason. On the safety front, the LTZ includes the LT’s safety package PLUS front and rear parking sensors, trailer brake control, and Safety Alert driver’s seat. You also get a stunning 7-speaker Bose audio system, a power tailgate, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, and a wireless charging pad.
  • The LT Trail Boss trim beefs up the stature of the Silverado 1500 with the help of some Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires, Z71 suspension with a 2-inch factory lift, high gloss black wheels, and some additional interior amenities such as a wrapped steering wheel and keyless open and start.
  • The High-Country trim creates a luxurious atmosphere with its perimeter lighting, automatic wipers, bed view camera, and heated rear seats. This luxury-focused offering adds further ease of use features such as running board side assist steps, a digital driver information display, and wireless charging.
  • The ZR2 trim sits at the top of the trim lineup for good reasons. It takes a different direction from the luxurious High-Country by offering a sporty and offroad-based position in the Silverado’s offerings. It achieves this with the help of mud-terrain Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires, StabiliTrak, enhanced ground clearance, as well as exterior updates like black Bowtie emblems and red tow hooks.
