What’s New With The 2024 Chevy Equinox?

The Chevrolet Equinox returns for the 2024 model year with a couple of changes to an already winning formula. This 5-seater compact SUV has been a stand-out performer in its segment in the past and continues its reign into 2024.

Here are some highlights for 2024:

• 2 new exterior colors: Riptide Blue Metallic and Lakeshore Blue Metallic
• Drive Confidence 2 Package now includes Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert

Colors & Design

Visually, the 2024 Equinox retains the same bold and sporty styling that its previous model year. However, new for 2024 is the addition of 2 additional exterior colors; Riptide Blue Metallic and Lakeshore Blue Metallic.

8 total exterior colors available: Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, Summit White, Mosaic Black Metallic, Riptide Blue Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat, Sterling Gray Metallic, Harvest Bronze Metallic, and Lakeshore Blue Metallic.

Trim Levels

• LS; this base model trim is far from your traditional base model. With LED headlamps, standard Chevy Safety Assist, Teen Driver Technology, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and more, the LS trim gives you all the creature comforts and safety features that you need without going overboard.
• LT; a step up from the LS, this trim will grant the driver all the features of the LS plus some additional creature comforts such as a power driver seat with power lumbar control and a multi-color Driver Information Center display.
• RS; the RS is the sporty trim level, simply put. Featuring bold styling with a distinct mesh grille, black emblems, larger 19″ wheels, LED tail lamps, and leather throughout the interior.
• Premier; sitting at the top of the 2024 Equinox trim lineup is the Premier. Featuring a hands-free gesture tailgate, the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system, an 8″ diagonal HD color touchscreen, heated mirrors, and Chevrolet Memory Package, this top-of-the-line trim leaves nothing to be desired.

Interior Updates and Changes

The interior has remained largely unchanged when compared to its 2023 model year. This, however, does not mean it is dated as it is far from that. Sitting to the right of the driver is a beautiful, 7-inch-diagonal color touchscreen. This screen adds another inch to its diagonal measurements when you opt for the Premier trim level. You will also notice that the Equinox uses tangible buttons, which provide an unmatched ease of use and a familiar environment for most buyers. Being an SUV, the 2024 Equinox takes cargo volume seriously, offering a staggering 63.9 cubic feet of just that. There is also additional hidden storage under the rear cargo floor and a folding 60/40 split bench seat in the 2nd row.

Safety & Driver Assistance Technology

The 2024 Chevy Equinox is designed to keep you and your precious occupants safe, and it cuts no corners when it comes to that front. With a 5-star NHTSA overall safety rating, the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox is a perfect choice for existing and expecting families. The 2024 Equinox will come standard with Chevy Safety Assist. Chevy Safety Assist is a safety package that includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, and Intellebeam with Following Distance Indicators.

Powertrain Availability and Fuel Efficiency

All 4-trim levels of the 2024 Equinox will be powered by Chevy’s tried and true 1.5L Turbo 4-cylinder motor, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. This efficient motor packs a punch, delivering a healthy 175 horsepower with 203 pound-feet of torque. Each trim is also available with all-wheel-drive, which when commuting in Minneapolis, is a must. When opting for the FWD variants of the new Equinox, you can expect to receive an estimated 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. If you opt for AWD, you will lose about 2 mpg in the city and 1 mpg on the highway.
