What’s New With The 2024 Chevy Traverse?

The short answer; almost everything. The 2024 Chevrolet Traverse returns with a full redesign, inside and out, as well as a plethora of additional changes. The Traverse has been a fan-favorite for ages due to its best-in-class cargo space, innovative tech, and safety features, as well as its seating for up to eight people. The 2024 model is no exception, returning with a new bold design and muscular truck-like features. The Traverse keeps your family’s safety and comfort in mind while also providing exceptional capability in all other regards.

New Colors & Design Changes

As proudly mentioned above, the 2024 Chevy Traverse has been fully redesigned. This comes with a plethora of changes to the exterior and interior of the vehicle. The design language of the 2024 Traverse is a mix between a crossover and a truck, providing the consumer with quite literally; the best of both worlds. The new larger diameter wheels you will get on the Traverse are also set wider, giving the vehicle a more athletic appearance. Following these design cues, the exterior features bold and muscular lines, which display its capability to any passerby. As far as colors go, Lakeshore Blue and Harvest Bronze are new additions to the color options for the 2024 Traverse.  You will also receive all-new front and rear lighting, including standard LEDs.

There are also some unique trim-specific changes to this vehicle. Available on the LS and LT trims, there is a Midnight Edition similar to the package available across other models in Chevrolet’s lineup. As the name suggests, the Midnight Edition package will grant the owner black trim pieces, interior, badging, roof rails, and wheels. If you opt for the RS trim, you will get an all-new walk-up lighting animation which is a neat touch. Rounding out the trim-specific changes is an available dual-glass panoramic sunroof on LT and Z71 trims, which is standard on the RS trim. Speaking of the RS, you will also get 22-inch wheels, unique sport suspension, and black accents throughout this trim level.

The All-New Traverse Z71

New for 2024 is the Traverse Z71, which adds an off-road capable trim to the lineup.

• All-terrain tires coupled with 18-inch wheels, exclusive to the Z71

Trim Levels

Each of the trim levels provides a different focus for a different buyer. The one thing in common is the unmatched capability, safety, and style that the 2024 Traverse offers.

• LS; a combination of capability and flexibility in one reasonable package, will comfortably seat 8 passengers.
• LT; the perfect family vehicle, packed with added features such as a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power driver seat with lumbar, wireless charging, power liftgate, and more.
• Z71; new for 2024, the Z71 is an off-road focused trim featuring off-road suspension, all-terrain tires, and many additional function-focused add-ons.
• RS; the top of the line, sporty and sleek option that is known for turning heads. You will get a Bose audio system, sporty RS badging, 22-inch wheels, and a standard panoramic sunroof.

Interior Updates and Changes

On top of the numerous changes made to the exterior of the 2024 Traverse, the interior features many changes of its own. With the driver in mind, the all-new Traverse aims to provide the most comfortable feeling possible within its cabin. Using sweeping lines, a lower beltline, as well as a lower instrument panel, the new Traverse feels more spacious than before. As you move your attention to the center of the interior, you will find a standard best-in-class 17.7-inch color touchscreen. This screen is over twice as large as the previous model’s screen and serves as a gateway to the host of technology that the 2024 Chevy Traverse offers. Similar to other Chevrolet models, you will be connected to OnStar, which provides drivers with safety, entertainment, convenience, and driver experience features.

The 2024 Chevy Traverse will comfortably seat eight passengers within the LS. The LT, Z71, and RS will be able to seat seven passengers.

Safety & Driver Assistance Technology

The 2024 Traverse comes packed with standard safety features as well as a plethora of additional available safety features. The Traverse has always put safety first, which is why all trim levels come with an updated version of Chevrolet’s Buckle to Drive feature. This feature requires both front-seat passengers to be buckled before driving. Also new is a Rear Seat Belt reminder, which alerts the driver if second and third-row passengers are not properly strapped in.

Powertrain Availability & New Exhaust information

Powering the 2024 Traverse lineup is a punchy 2.5-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 315 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. This is a 19% increase in power over the current 2023 model Traverse. This power is put to the ground using an eight-speed automatic transmission which can be paired with an optional all-wheel drive system. The Z71 trim will come with a twin-clutch AWD system. When shifting the focus to the back of the new Traverse, you will find an all-new exhaust system featuring true dual piping and chrome exhaust tips.
