2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500: A Better Buy Than The 2023 Model?
With the end of 2023 approaching, 2024 Chevrolet models have started to arrive at dealerships across Minnesota. More often than not, new models will come with additions that were not present on the preceding model. In the case of the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500, there are several updates in the form of performance, safety, technology, and appearance that may persuade customers to opt for the new model year.
Engine Updates
- 2.7L High-Output Turbo engine has been rebranded as the “TurboMax” engine. To complement the name change, and lend to its overall reliability, GM has extended the warranty to 5 years/100,000 miles of coverage (from 5 years/60,000 miles).
- 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel is now available on the overland-ready ZR2 model, making it all the more capable.
- Active Dual Exhaust with Sport Mode is now included on Silverado optioned with the 6.2L V8, giving enthusiasts a deeper and more aggressive exhaust note.
Technology & Safety Updates
- Adaptive Cruise Control is now standard on High Country models, making long-distance travel a breeze in the Silverado’s most luxurious model.
- Available Safety and Work Truck Safety Packages now include the highly requested Front and Rear Park Assist.
- OnStar and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto are now standard on Work Truck models.
Appearance Updates
- 2 new exterior colors have been introduced, Lakeshore Blue Metallic and Slate Gray Metallic.
- Midnight Edition (2-inch factory lift, Z71 Off-Road package, 18-inch gloss-black aluminum wheels, and Goodyear Wrangler mud terrain tires) is now available on High Country models.
- Blackout Appearance package (black badging, recovery hooks, bed decal, bumpers, exhaust tips, and grille) is now available on Custom, Custom Trail Boss, RST, LT, LT Trail Boss, and ZR2 models.
Overall, you can’t go wrong with either model, but if you are looking for additional customization in the form of appearance packages, newly optionable trim level engine options, and standard technology, we would suggest opting for the 2024 model.
As of October 2023, manufacture incentive support is now available on 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 models! This comes in the form of special financing rates through GM Financial, loyalty/conquest-based purchase and lease incentives, VPP program incentives (Military, Health Professionals, Educators, and Recent Graduates), and more.
